Hi All, great to see many of you over the last year of intense touring –
if you have any friends near any of these gigs, let alone yourself, please extend an invite.
Four of my associated bands (Fiddlers Feast, The Beggars, The Pigs) met up in Europe
last year including BluGuru lastly with a sojourn through the midst of Germany & Denmark.
We return with new music, instruments and a bonus stunning guest Shenzo Gregorio for the last week of the tour.
A reminder on BluGuru line-up! Gigs listed below.
BluGuru
Sounding like “Jeff Beck meets Ravi Shankar on the set of ‘Oh! Brother Where Art Thou’ while dancing in Rio!”,
they feature the sublime voice of Parvyn with Percussion, Mandolin & Indian Dance – seen lately with Bombay Royale, as is
Josh Bennett (Adelaide Fringe Award Nominee for Best Music and the
only foreigner performer at India’s 14 day Saptak Music Festival of Festivals!)
– Guitars & Mandolin to Sitar, Dilruba (bowed Sitar!) & Tabla.
Chameleon Andrew Clermont, who is also a nutso Fiddler, Mandolinist & 3 time Bluegrass Guitar Champ to boot – 30 years touring –
from Tom T Hall, Dya Singh to Totally Gourdgeous and his 16 years running the multi-festival Supper Club!
New double size Mandolin, massive Didg & 12- string Guitar with this time.
Together they are distilled from a vibrant world touring history with 3 part harmonised twisting tale

Newsletter 19/02/2013
Hi fine friends of The Supper Club!
We hope this email finds you well into a strong, or resolving 2013.
Last year’s email list got a tad waylaid, then found, during this year’s January gathering, so there is much to tell in as short a email as I can manage along with for those new this year! After this email you will only receive them as a Bcc.
BluGuru is Touring round SA/ VIC / ACT/ NSW in April (details below!) and Totally Gourdgeous will do a hearty lap mid Oct into late Nov (details later in year but put your requested areas in or tell us you’d like to present a House concert ! ) By the way, anyone up for Supper Club T-shirts? (Colour? Style? Design?)
Thanks
First off, Thank you all SO, SO much for contributing to our precious “fringe” Fest of music. As I recall/ read your collective comments & thoughts I also note that in each last show each year we have first of all, a very full house, and secondly that over half of you are new to the Supper Club. The week’s gossip has been fruitful and the word was that The Supper Club is a “must see”. Plenty of “don’t change a thing” and “refreshing”, and always a big thanks from many, that the volume is sensible. And most importantly thanks to the many who help in accommodation & hospitality.
Highlights
A few highlights this year were Marilla Holmes (in Melbourne Cup attire finery or Steam punk!) embellished by string section with Rhiannon & Monik (Golden Fiddle Award winners for Youth!) alongside Jeri Foremann (cello & twin fiddle) plus Steve O’hern on sublime finger-picking irish guitar. Guitar & Piano Nights soared from North American troubadour, Gregory Page to Western Swing Stuie French (with Camile’s sultry voice). An Oud revelation with Paddy Montgomery supported by Jess Stocker’s Darbuka percussion wrapping up with a finale spectacle of The Borderers dancing on the tables spurred on by Mal Webb’s trombone while Parris’s keyboards ducked & weaved when not exploding into the night! Just to mention a few nights awesome moments!
Tickets in
There were many new “season pass” holders I’m glad to say (get’s you 5 shows free!). And the benefit that All the door funds are going to the majority of the performers and in particular making it possible for what is largely a youthful gathering from all round Australia, to happen, without them being pushed into the busking chaos down the street. We thank Bridget Sommers & family for their help each year at the door.
Food & Art
The new club bistro arrangement went pretty smoothly given the huge volume of orders – getting food to all in some effective way. (Wider meal options promised next time!).
For the many waiting there was solace though a gallery of Portrait Art from my beloved Bettina Düesberg & Landscape (multi-shot) pictures assembled from my many music tours across the planet. Prints and/ or originals are certainly always available – on my site under “Big Pics” (and see www.bettinaduesberg.de). Amongst her portraits made this visit was ex-prime minister Bob Hawke! Expressions of interest of the assorted pieces can be emailed back.
The “take home” results – Andrew Clermont’s International Supper Club – CDs & DVDs
Here be an offering for celebration or “close enough to” therapy!!
In Jan 2012 we recorded all that happened on stage and similar to 2010, distilled the 30 hours captured, into 3 hours of wonder. You can look at my CD site in www.andrewclermont.com.au to see the picturesque fold out covers and contents page for each.
No CDs repeat songs and it is the Best of the Best!
Those who have been often to the Supper Club know there are sooo many combinations that peak unpredictably – but we were there to capture those moments – and now here for you!
$25 for 1CD
$45 for 2 CDs
$60 for the trilogy Set delivered to your door (post)
$100 for both 2010 & 2012 sets together!! (That’s 2 CDs free!)
& free Supper Club postcards with all sales!
Special Live Supper Club DVD @ The Capitol
In the last months we also just released the double DVD from a most rare Supper Club event where we re-united with our first youth “champion” of piano, Tom Donald at a gala show at Tamworth’s Capitol Theatre.
Not only soaring solo piano of Ray Charle’s Georgia, through assorted famous styles, but re-combining spectacularly with our Theatre Star, Brookie Schiemer; NoHoldsBarred Fiddle Youth Champ, Emily Little; young powering percussionist Jess Stocker along-side BluGuru’s multi-facets from Kathak Indian classical Dance with alluring Vocals of Parvyn Singh to Sitar plus Swing & Celtic, Blues & Bluegrass guitar from Josh Bennett leading into a spontaneous “London Abstraction” (reflecting the CD / DVD of same name being launched on the night)!
Not to forget the jaw dropping guitar of young Steve O’Hern & surprise guests who arrived unexpectedly to town from UK, The Rosellys, to complete the Supper Club story of bringing music from afar together.
What was more a surprise is that we were, at very short notice, able to pull together 4 Video cameras. operators, plus 4 still photographers as well to capture the event. 2hrs between 2 DVDs of close ups and detail. Only a coupla months mixing it all..! Very excited with the result.
Please join us by ordering this once only recording $40
The “Missing Link” CD – London Abstractions
And what were we launching on the Captiol Theatre night? What I call the food & wine CD of “active ambient” music that was spontaneously cooked up in London the 2 months before, and married to 100 of my Being There Big Pic images from Australia in a “Dreamtime” offering – “London Abstractions”. A trance between Tom Donald (Piano)& I (Gourdalin & Violalin!) including adventures with Mal Webb (Gourd Bass) & Mark Buckingham (UK) on Bass Clarinet.
CD $25 / DVD $30 see youtube examples at http://www.youtube.com/andrewclermont

It’s been a wonderful & great, surprise filled gathering of music, art & image of late. We hope you can include some in your collection too.
That’s enough sales pitch! Now see it live!! 26 stops along the up coming BluGuru tour…!
Come along to a concert or tell your friends who may be near – Live music is always a precious commodity.
